Ann Lena Carter Boyce (Ms. Ann), 96, of Gurdon, Arkansas passed away Friday, the 27th of January 2012.
Mrs. Boyce was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Lonoke County, Arkansas to the late Eula M. and Newt F. Carter. She loved telling jokes and was quite the comedian. She also enjoyed sewing and gardening throughout her life.
Mrs. Boyce has been a life-long Baptist and has been a member at Beech Street Baptist Church of Gurdon, Arkansas for more than 34 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Burt Boyce; her parents; one brother, Walter Carter; and three sisters, Myrtle Hubbell, Leona Red, and Ruby McCallie.
Mrs. Boyce is survived by her twin daughters and son-in-laws Anita and Charles Cabe of Gurdon and Annette and Jack D’Arcy of Atlanta, Ga.; two grandsons Clay Cabe (Sarah B) and Craig D’Arcy (Sydney); one great-granddaughter, Katherine Grace “Kate” D’Arcy; one brother, Carl Carter of Little Rock; one sister, Vera Faye Cullum of North Little Rock; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Her grandsons Clay and Craig affectionately called her “Babum.”
Visitation will be Sunday Jan. 29, 4–6 p.m. in the Chapel of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon. Services will be Monday, Jan. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon.
Interment will be in Forrest Park Cemetery in Forest City. Memorials may be made to Beech Street Baptist Church or a Charity of choice.  
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Twin Rivers Health and Rehab in Arkadelphia for their loving care and support.
