Ouachita Baptist University senior pitcher Kolby Moore has signed a professional contract to play for the River City Rascals in the St. Louis suburb of O’Fallon, Mo.
Moore, who was a first-team All-Gulf South Conference player this past season, will begin his professional career in the bullpen for the Rascals, an independent professional team that won the 2010 championship in the 12-team Frontier League.

Moore was the ace of this year’s Ouachita Tigers pitching staff, posting a 9-5 record and a 4.04 ERA, with team highs of 67 strikeouts in 78 innings of work. He made 12 starts in 15 appearances, with four complete games and one shutout for the Tigers. Moore finished the season strong, giving up only four earned runs in his last five starts for the Tigers.

Moore is the fourth Tiger player in the past three years to go on to play professional baseball, according to OBU Head Baseball Coach Chris Moddelmog.
