Bismarck fought valiantly against the Prescott Curley Wolves Tuesday night in Prescott, but in the end, they were outmatched.
Junior Boys
Prescott jumped out to a 21-6 lead in the opening quarter, and the Junior Lions could not recover from the deficit.
Both teams added 11 in the second period for a 32-17 Prescott lead.
After the break, Prescott came out on fire, adding nine while holding the Lions to a mere two points, 41-19.
The Lions added four in the final period, but the Curley Wolves were able to add another nine for the 50-23 final.
Chance McMullin led the Lions with seven points on the night with one rebound, a steal and a block.
Hayden Ratcliffe put up six and grabbed a rebound while Parker Robertson added six with three rebounds and a steal.
J.D. Baswell hit a trey late in the fourth quarter for his only points of the night.
Stone Huskey had two points with two boards and a steal, and Ryan Looper and Dakota Newman had one each.
Looper had four boards and a steal.
The Junior Lions will be back in action tonight as they face off against the Magnet Cove Panthers. Tip-off for the game will follow the Junior Girls game at 4 p.m.
Senior Girls
The Lady Lions were neck-and-neck with the Lady Wolves after the opening period, 10-9, but Bismarck was held to only five in the second period as Prescott hung another 15 points on the scoreboard.
After the break, the Lady Lions made a valiant effort, but their eight was not enough to overcome the deficit or the 11 added by the Lady Wolves in the third stanza, 36-22.
The Lady Lions did win the final period, adding 13 while holding Prescott to 10, but the final still hung in the Lady Wolves’ favor, 46-35.
B.J. Vinson led the Lady Lions with 13 points, and she grabbed eight boards with a pair of take-aways.
Taylor Wethington shot for six with two boards and a steal while Jessica Compton added five with two boards and four steals.
Baleigh Vinson put up four points while earning four take-aways and a block.
Jimmilee Smith had three points, and Sydney Turner and Taylor Fertig had two each.
Smith had a pair of take-aways, Turner had four boards and Fertig had three rebounds.

The third stanza was positive for the Lions, who added 20, but another 23 by Prescott stretched their lead to 67-30.
The Lions won the final eight minutes, outscoring the home team by five, but it was not enough as the team fell 72-40.
Trace Pee had nine points on the night with five boards and a block.
Jansen Hardage added seven with a take away, and Colton Davis put up four.
Ian Jenkins, Miguel Garcia and Trenton Corley each added two.
Jenkins had two boards, a take-away and a block. Garcia had a pair of rebounds, and Corley had one.
