BISMARCK - The Bismarck Lions scored five runs in them first two innings and held off the Little Rock Parkview Patriots 7-4 on Thursday afternoon at Rusty McLard Field in Bismarck.
Cade Beckwith led off the bottom of the first inning for Bismarck with a single. Sawyer Hardage singled and Jayden Howell doubled in Beckwith. Brady DePriest singled in Hardage and Howell scored on a wild pitch for a 3-0 Lions lead.
In the bottom of the second, James Kegley led off with a walk and moved to third when Zach Webb sacrificed. Beckwith walked and Kegley scored on a wild pitch. Beckwith came in on a wild pitch as well to make it 5-0.
Parkview scored a run in the top of the third inning and one run in the top of the fourth inning to cut the Bismarck lead down to 5-2.
In the bottom of the fourth,  Webb went to first base on a catchers interference call after Kegley was hit by pitch with one out. Beckwith made it to first on a fielder’s choice and with two outs, Hardage walked. Howell reached on an error that scored Webb and Beckwith and moved Hardage to third base. Bismarck led 7-2.
Parkview added two more runs in the top of the seventh inning, but it wasn’t enough.
