MALVERN - Before the rains came on Monday afternoon, the Gurdon Go-Devils played at the Malvern City Park and lost to the Leopards 13-1 in a five-inning blended conference game.
The Leopards scored seven times in the second inning against Gurdon’s pitcher Dillon Reece. Not sure who was batting second and third and fourth for the Go-Devils, but two strike outs and a grounder to shortstop ended the top of the first inning for them.
Malvern scored a run in the bottom of the first inning on a double an error.
In the top of the second a ground out, a strike out and a walk to Cole Harper who was picked off of first base. In the bottom half of the inning, A single, an error, a double, a batter being hit by a pitch, a sacrifice fly to center, a walk, another walk, a wild pitch, a second double in the inning, another walk, a single and a balk made for seven Leopard runs.
Gurdon got a run in the top of the third. Josh Moore reached on a catchers interference call and moved to second when the Malvern catcher interfered with Garett White. Caleb Jacobs singled and Moore scored.
Malvern added three more runs in the top of the third to lead 11-1.
Gurdon did not score again and Malvern added two more runs. The Go-Devils are 0-9.
