Rhett Lashlee was the last speaker of the year for the Arkadelphia Football Club when it met at the Arkadelphia Recreation Center on Tuesday. Lashlee is currently the market director for Vype magazine. He also was quarterback at Shiloh Christian from 1999-2001. He led them to two state championships in 1991 and 2001.
Division I football needs a play-off system just like the other three divisions of NCAA football and every other sport that has a postseason national championship tournament. The NCAA sponsors 88 total sports and awards a national championship trophy in 87 of those – yep, Division I football is the only one that an NCAA Champion is not recognized.

The Bryant Hornets and Lady Hornets swept all three games against Arkadelphia on Thursday night at Arkadelphia High School. The eighth grade Lady Beavers fell 45-10. The freshman Lady Badgers lost 42-11, and the freshman boys dropped their game 41-26.

There are not many rivalries as old or rich in tradition as the Henderson State vs. Ouachita Baptist “Battle of the Ravine.” It is the oldest rivalry among current NCAA Division II institutions. After 81 games played between these two fine institutions, Henderson State holds a 38-37-6 advantage.
