To the Editor:
There are a variety of reasons to be glad to live in Arkadephia. Feaster Trail is near the top of my list. I have yet to find a season that I don’t love getting out there for a bit of exercise and clean air. It is away from the noise of traffic, and in many parts resembles a quiet walk in the woods.
Of course this time of year there are flowers and the unfurling of spring to enjoy. Almost anytime of the year, there is to be found an abundance of birds and wildlife from deer to squirrels and rabbits, all the way to the great blue heron we scared up today. The beauty of the fall of colors leads in to the solace of a walk in the cold of winter, which may be my favorite of all. With all the stress of life today, a short time spent outside can offer great peace.
My husband prefers the Ouachita River end of the trail for reasons many of you can guess. Our dog Lily just loves it all.
I want to say thanks to all the city parks personnel who keep it mowed and clean for all the many people young and old with all levels of abilities that enjoy using the trail, especially those of us who are a bit snake phobic. Feaster
Trail is one of our treasures here in Arkadelphia. If you haven’t taken advantage of it before now, it’s never too late to get out and see what I’m talking about. You’re sure to meet others that you already know or perhaps make a new acquaintance. Go discover yet another reason to be glad you live here!
