To the Editor:
I think the theatre should be the last thing on everyone’s mind right now.
While nobody can make up their minds on what architect to use, we the taxpayers should have a say in this matter, after all we will be the ones using it.
As far as mini screens upstairs there was none in the old one so why add them now? I think it should be put on hold for now.
Let’s put our focus on the thing that's really needed, the remodeling or replacing of the old Fire Station downtown. If you stop and think about it, a theatre is not going to lower our insurance rates.
We should have a decent looking building to house our most valuable assets: our firemen and their equipment.
If you look at the west side of the building, it is a disgrace. It is a botched-up job of trying to cover something up. Everybody is talking about making the city more presentable, why not look at this first? These guys deserve better.
Now let’s talk about shopping local. Most people go out of town to buy because the prices are cheaper and they can find everything they are looking for. Gas is even cheaper. Go figure why.
