Carl Edward Johnston, 81, of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday June 23, 2009 in Little Rock. He was born October 18, 1927 in Arkadelphia, the son of William and Jessie Hughes Johnston. He was a farmer and rancher at the Caddo River Ranch for 42 years, a World War II and Korean War veteran, and a dedicated husband and father. He was a member and deacon of the First Assembly of God Church in Arkadelphia.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years Anna Braden Johnston; one son, Ed Johnston and wife, Bonnie, of Arkadelphia; three daughters, Patty Eismann of Leavenworth, Kan.; Linda Wright and husband John David of Arkadelphia; Carla Massey of Hope; one brother Earl Johnston of Arkadelphia; 16 grandchildren including one dedicated granddaughter Deanna Johnston, several great-grand children, nieces and nephews.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, June 26, in the First Assembly of God Church, with Bro. Nathan Rogers and Bro. Temon Jenkins officiating.
