Evelyn Humphries Golden, 87, of Little Rock, formerly of the Gurdon area, passed from this life on Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home. She was born on Aug. 6, 1921 in Clark County, the daughter of the late James Amos and Amanda Beard Humphries. Evelyn was a retired school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, James D Golden, one brother, John Amos Humphries and two sisters, Annie Rowland and Ruth Nations.
Evelyn is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Williams of Little Rock and Betty Bruckner of McAlester, Okla., one son, James Golden of Arkadelphia and two grandchildren, Shawn Williams of Little Rock and Jordan Golden of Arkadelphia.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 15 at Southfork Cemetery at Gurdon with the Rev. Martin Jones officiating.
