William Neal Ballard, 62, of Friendship, died Friday, Jan. 13, 2012. He was born Jan. 4, 1950, the son of Jess W. and Joan Petray Ballard. He was a retired pipe fitter, a U.S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, member of VFW Post 7516 and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Leath Ballard; one son, Scott Penny of Friendship; one daughter, Kim Hughes and her husband, Kenny of Brunswick, Ga.; one brother, Jesse "Jay" Ballard and his wife, Paula of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Frances Corn and her husband Mike of Arkadelphia, and Charlotte Henry of Friendship; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday in the Gilchrist Cemetery near Friendship with full Military Honors. There will be no formal visitation.
