Arthur T. Cooper, 91, of Whelen Springs, passed away Jan. 8, 2012, in Little Rock.
Mr. Cooper was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Missouri to Bill and Francis Cooper.
Mr. Cooper was a Construction worker and operator. He was a WWII Veteran; a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Ledgen, Radio Club and Boy Scout Leader; he was Mayor and a Volunteer Fire Chief of Whelen Springs and a Member of Whelen Springs Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Gertrude Cooper; his parents; one daughter, France Jane Cooper; and grandson, Anthony Cooper.
He is survived by one son, Charles A. Cooper and wife Shirley of Friendship; one grandchild, Stephanie Gray and husband John; and one great-grandchild, Eben Gray.
Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Friendship.
Arrangements are entrusted to Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon.
