Clifton Eugene Jackson, age 64, of Gurdon, passed from this life on Sunday, February 21, 2010, at the Arkansas Hospice Unit of St. Joseph’s Mercy Health Center in Hot Springs. He was born March 9, 1945, in Newport, the son of Clifton Morris and Nancy Virginia Hale Jackson. Eugene was a retired log cutter and a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his father.
Eugene is survived by his mother Nancy Jackson of Hensley; his wife Geneva Hill Jackson; one son Michael Jackson of Gurdon; four daughters Amanda Curran of Gurdon, Cathy Stiles of Tallahassee, Fla., Jenise Hudson of Malvern and Tammy Arnold of Hollywood; one sister Barbara Brown of Hensley; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, at Welch Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Tipton officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Interment will be in Southfork Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Michael Jackson, Wesley Jackson, Johnny Rogers, Jake Curran, Donnie Curran and Matt Hudson.
