Winnie Mable Toland, 93, of Gurdon died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at Twin Rivers Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia.
She was born Sept. 7, 1916 to Robert Austin Logan and Ivy Elizabeth Holloway Logan in Sparkman.
She was a homemaker, Postmaster, Owner of a Grocery Store in Smithton and Majestic Cleaners, eemployee. A member of the Gurdon First Baptist Church, Sunday school Teacher for several years, Red Springs EHC and home maker of the year 2009, and wife of Earl Toland for 60 years.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Howard, Bill and Ned Logan and sister Francis Herrington.
She is survived by 2 sons James Toland (Jean) of Gurdon, Bobby Toland (Helen) of Arkadelphia; 1 daughter Carolyn Toland of Arkadellphia; 3 sisters Rose Mary Smith of Ozard, Charlene Wells of Gurdon and Evelyn Norris of Hattiesburg, Miss.; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will ber 6-8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, in the Chapel of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon.
Services will be Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Gurdon First Baptist Church with Bro. Kenneth Bobo and Bro. Marc Crawley. Burial will be under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon. Interment will follow in South Fork Cemetery.
