Mary M. Green, 96, of Arkadelphia died Thursday, Jan. 28, 2010, in Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Arkadelphia. She was born April 21, 1913 in Bearden, daughter of the late Garland and Artency Mason. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Antoine. She was the widow of Rev. Raymond Green and was preceded in death by four brothers and six sisters.
Survivors include one son, Raymond Green Jr. of Arkadelphia; 5 daughters, Margaret Tabb and Mattye Looper of Henderson, Nev., Mary Hosea of Los Angeles, Cabeatrice Collins of Fontana, Calf., and Erma House of Arkadelphia; two sisters, Naoma Brazil of Bearden and Arthelia Lambert of Rockford, Ill; one adopted daugher, Tammye Jones of Arkadelphia and one foster daughter, Deborah Mumford of North Las Vegas, Nev.; 18 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul A.M.E. Church with Rev. Alvin Hunter officiating and Rev. Rufus Hatley Eulogist. Burial will be in Moss cemetery at Bearden under the direction of Mitchell Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Friday, with family hour from 5-7 p.m.
