Obituary Van Hardage

Van Dexter Hardage, age 84, of Bismarck passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at his home.  
He was born on Jan. 30, 1926 in Hot Springs, the son of the late John Dexter and Fannie Christine Eby Hardage. Van was retired from the Hot Spring County Road Department and was a cattle farmer. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and a Baptist. Van was a past board of director member of CATC and Arkansas Cattlemen's Association.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Olene Wiggins; two brothers, Byron and Adolph "Doc" Hardage; and one brother-in-law, Preston Graves.
Van is survived by his wife, Ernestine Graves Hardage of Bismarck; one daughter and her husband, Renee and Rusty Morrison of Bismarck; two granddaughters and their husbands, Mitzi and Kyle Overturf and Jessica and Brian Harris; three great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sawyer Overturf and Savannah Harris; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 3, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Morrison officiating. Interment will be in New Bismarck Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Art Hardage, Bud Thornton, Chad King, Corey King, Tyler Thornton and Dwayne Graves.  Honorary pallbearers will be Clifford McClard, Harold Thornton, Jim Brown, Howard Rowton, Farrell Hall, Dr. Neeraj Bharany and staff, Dannie Loy of Odyssey Health Care, Tim Burroughs, Berl McEarl, Lake Center Coffee Club and W. C. Hardage.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 901 North University, Little Rock, AR  72207.
The family will gather at the home of Rusty and Renee Morrison at 362 Fendley Road in Bismarck.
