The Siftings Herald is sponsoring a “Ladies Night Out” on March 30 at Henderson State University’s Garrison Center.
“This is going to be a lot of fun,” said Vickie Gilliam, advertising manager for the Siftings Herald and organizer of the event.
Among the guests for the evening is Diana Bratton, owner of Café 1217 and Taco Mama in Hot Springs. Bratton, author of a cookbook, will be presenting a cooking demonstration.
Barry Brandt, news anchor for Channel 7 in Little Rock, will be the emcee for the evening.
Gilliam said the ladies attending will find booths with all kinds of items for sale, including home furnishings, cosmetics, jewelry and clothing. There will also be several area businesses providing information on finances, services for the elderly and local business support. There will also be representatives of the medical profession on hand.
While Giliam said visitors could easily spend the entire three hours of the event walking around and looking at the merchandise for sale, there will be music provided by local entertainer Gerald Browning and a style show in addition to the cooking demonstration.
Gilliam said there will be coupons and samples for visitors and door prizes will be awarded regularly throughout the night.
There is no admission charge and Gilliam said there will be points of interest for ladies, ranging from teenagers on up.
“We want everyone to come out,” Gilliam said. “It’s going to be a ball. There is so much excitement and activity and laughter. This is also a time for visiting and there’s a lot of buying and selling as well as a lot of good advice.”
There are a limited number of booths still available.
“Anyne who buys a booth can show off their products or sell from their booth,” Gilliam said.
