Janet Roderick, director of the ASBTDC, said the center has added Scott and Yell counties to its service area, which also includes Clark, Dallas, Garland, Grant, Hot Spring, Howard, Pike, Polk, Montgomery and Sevier counties. Scott and Yell counties were formerly served by the ASBTDC office at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith.
The change became effective July 1.
Henderson’s ASBTDC is a partnership of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HSU School of Business and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Lonnie Jackson, a certified business consultant, is director of the HSU center.
Through a statewide network of offices, ASBTDC assists start-ups, existing businesses, expanding businesses and technology businesses. Services include free business consulting and market research and affordable training. The ASBTDC is a fully accredited small business and technology development center.
The national network of small business development centers is the SBA’s largest partnership program, providing management and technical assistance to help Americans start, run and grow their own businesses. With 1,000 centers across the nation, the SBDC network assists 725,000 small businesses every year.
