SOUTH FORK — A Searcy man and woman were killed early Sunday in a two-vehicle accident on Interstate 30.
According to a report filed by Trooper Sammy L. Hart of the Arkansas State Police, 50-year-old Madoda G. Bavuma and Jacquelin E. Owens, 47, both of Searcy, were traveling eastbound on I-30 in an 18-wheeler when Scott Martin, 31, of Coppersa Cove, Texas entered the road at the 63 milemarker entrance ramp, failing to yield.
Martin’s 2003 Ford Focus collided with the 18-wheeler, causing it to lose control and crash into the bridge overpass. The accident occurred at 6 a.m., the report indicates.
Bavuma and Owens were pronounced dead on scene.
Martin was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia and treated for injuries to his left leg.
