A Memphis, Tenn., man who faces charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm from a vehicle was released on bond this weekend, Sgt. Roy Bethell, criminal investigator for Arkadelphia Police Department, said.
Brandon Yarbrough, 23, was arrested Wednesday after a shooting took place on the campus of Ouachita Baptist University.
District Judge Randy Hill set Yarbrough’s bond at $25,000 bond Friday. As part of the conditions of his bond, Yarbrough had to return to Memphis wearing an electronic ankle monitor. He is scheduled to appear before Circuit Judge John Thomas on Monday, Dec. 8. Clark County Prosecutor Blake Batson will be the prosecuting attorney. At press time, it was unknown who Yarbrough’s attorney will be.
Police released two female suspects who were detained shortly after police arrested Yarbrough for allegedly shooting at a Henderson State University student, said Sgt. Harley Hillery, criminal investigator.
Caddo Valley police caught up with Yarbrough after a short, high-speed chase, Mayor Alan Dillavou said. The women were reportedly with Yarbrough around the time shots were fired at a parking lot near Henderson, and they were also with him during the chase. After interviewing the two women, Hillery said they had no connection with the shooting. “They were just in the wrong place at the wrong time,” he said. The names of neither the women nor the victim have been released.
