A Little Rock man who allegedly stole several items - ranging from a Camaro to toilet paper - from a relative has been arrested in Nevada County.
According to court records, a Buckner man turned in a relative for theft after Stacy L. Burton, 38, of Little Rock, reportedly stole several items from the property.
The man noticed several things missing on Sept. 26, and had been away from his residence from about 1:30-7:30 p.m. the day before. The man told Nevada County Sheriff's Office deputy Larry Miller the items stolen included a 1995 Camaro Z-28, a half-inch drill press, more than $100 in change, two high power Otasco rifle scopes, five gallons of gasoline, three cases of soft drinks and two bundles of toilet paper.
According to the report, the man said Burton had been at the residence when he left on Sept. 26 and was gone when he returned. The man informed Miller that Burton did not have permission to take anything.
On Sept. 27, Miller ran leads on-line on the suspect and found Burton had sold a drill press at a Little Rock pawn shop on Sept. 26. A hold was placed on the drill press. Charges of theft of property in excess of $5,000 have been filed against the son. This is a class C felony, punishable by three to 10 years in prison, or a fine up to $10,000, or both.
Burton was arrested, made his first appearance and was due in court Monday, Dec. 12.
