Arkadelphia Police Department

Sunday, Jan. 10

A resident of the 600 block of South Sixth Street reported fighting with her boyfriend, a Sparkman man. She told him to leave after he brought news that he just got a job. He said that, as he was packing his belongings to leave, she threatened him with a baseball bat.

Saturday, Jan. 9

Police were dispatched to Powder Mill Apartments in reference to a violation of a protection order. A woman reported that a man against whom she had the order had called her three times. She said her daughter answered the phone on the third call and told the man not to call again because of the order.
A resident of the 2800 block of Sylvia Street reported that someone got into her vehicle Friday night or early Saturday morning and stole her wallet, which contained $100 cash and gift cards.
A Robin Lane woman reported that her neighbor had been harassing her and her daughter, peeking through his blinds while the two were outside and allegedly shouting unwelcome comments. The man denied the comments when confronted by police.
Officer Woody Perry was dispatched to the 2300 block of Forest Park Drive in reference to a breaking and entering to a vehicle. A GPS unit and a digital camera, worth a total of $300, was stolen.
While officer Malissa Cleek was patrolling Evonshire Drive, she saw two people dash and run to the south of a residence on the 100 block of the street. Officers were called to locate the suspects, but were unsuccessful. Police found two nearby vehicles to have been rummaged through, but nothing was reported stolen from either vehicle.

Thursday, Jan. 7

A resident of the 1000 block of South 15th Street reported that someone ran over her trash can her mailbox, and that the incident had happened twice in a few weeks.

Saturday, Jan. 2

While patrolling Clay Street, Sgt. Johnny Whittle noticed that all four tires on two APD patrol units had been slashed.

Friday, Jan. 8

Deputy Brian Winegardener was dispatched to the 8600 block of Highway 182 West in Amity in reference to a domestic disturbance. He spoke to a man and his wife, who said she had proof that the man had hit her. She pointed to a bruise on her chin. The man denied hitting her. Winegardener asked her again if she had been hit, but she could not give a clear response. The woman, he noted, was intoxicated. The man said she became agitated with him earlier “for no reason,” grabbed a gun and put it to his chest. He said he left to avoid any further conflict, and added that her actions have been an “ongoing problem.”

Wednesday, Jan. 6

A CenterPoint Energy employee reported the theft of $200 worth of copper wire from a power plant near Gurdon.

Tuesday, Jan. 5

An Okolona man reported the theft of a corn feeder and a deer stand from his hunting land.
A Red Springs Road, Gurdon, man reported his trailer at the 1100 block of Highway 53 South was vandalized.
