The Arkadelphia man accused of breaking and entering into several area homes while the residents were inside pleaded not guilty Tuesday.
Jucobbi Balch, 18, of 411 N. Austin St., made his plea from closed circuit television Tuesday before Circuit Judge Robert McCallum.
Balch faces two count of residential burglary, two counts of theft of property and one count of armed robbery.
Arkadelphia Police Department criminal investigators arrested Balch after they received eyewitness accounts that he and another man burst into a woman’s Clay Street home in early March with a silver handgun, demanding her to give them money. Investigators, who placed Balch among others in a photo lineup, say also that an eyewitness “quickly” identified him as one of the suspects involved in the incidents.
Meanwhile, investigators are still looking for another suspect tied to the armed robbery. Sgt. Roy Bethell said Wednesday that no suspects yet have been arrested, but that there are “people of interest” police are talking to.
Debra Wood will be defending Balch, whose trial is set for June 28.
