The Ouachita Baptist football team will begin fall practice on Monday, August 6, with a record 115 football players expected to report this weekend.
The Tigers are looking to defend their 2017 Great American Conference Championship. Ouachita returns 10 starters on the offensive side of the ball, including playmakers Drew Harris (Benton, Ark.), Allie Freeman (Little Rock, Ark.) and Kris Oliver (Arkadelphia, Ark.). On the defensive side of the ball, the Tigers return six starters including the teams third and fourth leading tacklers in Tevin Jones (Jonesboro, Ark.) and Keandre Evans (Junction City, Ark.).
Oucahita will open up the 2018 campaign on the road in Alva, Okla., against Northwestern Oklahoma State. The Tigers have won all six meetings against the Rangers since the GAC was founded in 2011. Since the start of the 2010 season the Tigers have gone a perfect 7-0 in week one match-ups.
