I Am My Father’s Daughter
Growing up in a household with Christian parents was a great blessing. My father being a pastor and minister of the Gospel wasn’t afraid to extend a firm hand.
Although his way of discipline confused me at times, but his discipline and training has been a great impact in becoming the woman that I am today. And as father’s day approaches, I proudly delight in this great memory; he never missed a single night reading his bible and praying before going to bed. From a daughter’s perspective, I could not have asked for a better inheritance.
My father’s inheritance of reading and studying the bible afforded me the opportunity to acquaint myself with my Heavenly Father. And out of God’s love and kindness, he chose me as His very own. “He predestined us for adoption to son ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will” (Ephesians 1:5).
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is who we are!” (1 John 3:1).
My dear friends, you too are chosen heirs of the Most High God. Embrace your status as sons and daughters and look forward with joy to the inheritance that awaits you.
“It’s imperishable, undefiled and unfading. It is kept in heaven for you and will last for eternity” (1 Peter 1:3-4).
And as believers, you should share this same inheritance with those who do not have a living hope.
When it comes to my Heavenly Father, there is nothing more rewarding than to remind myself each day that I am my Father’s daughter! (In loving memory of the late Rev. Henry C. Giles)
