Work is progressing on the new facility for Goza Middle School.
“We are pleased with the progress of our new middle school,” Superintendent Dr. Donnie Whitten said. “It is an exciting time for Arkadelphia Public Schools and our students.”
Nabholz Construction Services, began construction of the new building after a groundbreaking ceremony held on Thursday, December 14. The estimated completion is in 10 months.
“Seeing this construction project shows great changes are coming to Arkadelphia. Having quality facilities for students and staff are critical to recruiting more families to our area,” said Chamber Executive Vice President Shelley Loe.
The new school, which features ground and basement-level classrooms, stairwells and an elevator, administration area, health center, media center, computer labs, art center, work force career center, science labs, a complete kitchen, serving and dining area, a gymnasium with locker rooms, a band instrument room and a development lab, will open for the 2019-20 school year.
Arkadelphia Public Schools and Nabholz Construction Services would also like to remind the public that Badger Lane is closed for construction. All motorists are asked to continue using High School Drive. Open gates on Badger Lane are for deliveries only.
