The Arkadelphia Badger track teams feature two of the top sprinters in the state and have performed well this season as they prepare for the 7-4A Conference meet which will be on April 24 at Robinson High School in Little Rock.

The Arkadelphia Badger track teams feature two of the top sprinters in the state and have performed well this season as they prepare for the 7-4A Conference meet which will be on April 24 at Robinson High School in Little Rock.
The Lady Badgers are led by senior Jasmine Gordon who is already a qualifier for the State Track Meet.
Last month, Gordon recorded the second-fastest time in the state when she ran an 11.97 in the 100 meters. Her time is also among the top 30 in the nation so far this season among high school girls. Gordon, who finished fourth in the Meet of Champions last year, has won this event at five straight meets this season. She has also dominated the 200 meter dash with four wins and one second-place finish.
Sophomore Tajhanna McKenzie has scored points in several events, including the long jump, triple jump, 100 and 200 meters. Her best performances include a seventh place finish in the long jump at Lakeside and third, fourth and fourth in the triple jump, 100 and 200 at the Southern Bancorp Relays at Gurdon.
Tracie Page, a junior for the Lady Badgers, has posted a sixth place finish in the 200 meters and a seventh in the shot put so far this season.
The Lady Badgers’ 4 x100 relay team finished first at Gurdon, second at Prescott and third at Nashville and should be a favorite to take the conference title. The relay team is composed of Gordon, McKenzie, Page and Kyla Crawford.
Several athletes have also performed well for the Badger men. Sophomore Cannon Turner has received ribbons at every meet this season. He has qualified for the 4A state track meet with one of the top 15 times in the state in the 100 meters. He also won the 100 meters and 200 meters at the Southern Bancorp Relays.
Sophomore Malcom Turner has also performed well in the hurdles, earning a fourth place finish at the Southern Bancorp Relays and sixth place at the Nashville Relays in the 300 meter hurdles. He also finished in sixth place in the 100 meter hurdles earlier in the season.
Victor Tademy, a junior for the Badgers, finished eighth in the 200 meters in a crowded field at Lakeside. Sophomore Jayson Campbell earned ribbons at the Southern Bancorp Relays where he placed fourth in the long jump and sixth in the 400 meters.
Senior Lamarkus Hearns placed second in the 400 meters and was sixth in the triple jump and long jump at the Southern Bancorp Relays where Senior Gage Yelverton also recorded a fifth place finish in the shot put.
The Badgers’ 4x100 relay team of Dillon Scott, Victor Tademy, Javonte Brown and Cannon Turner has also earned ribbons at several meets including a third place finish at the Southern Bancorp Relays.
The track team is coached by Chris Kizer, Ben Chandler and Wade Matlock.
