The Arkadelphia Board of Education heard in their regular March meeting from officials involved in the construction of Goza Middle School’s new building.
At President Randy Turner’s behest, Jonahtan Adams, business development officer for Nabholz Construction, gave an update.
It was revealed that Nabholz Project Engineer Eunice Muhammad has relocated to town for the remainder of the work.
Adams addressed recent rain delays and stated that the construction crews have been working Saturdays and Sundays in order to catch up.
At the time of the meeting, 80 percent of the footings had been poured, with slab to be poured next.For the project’s duration, monthly reports will be given.
 
Other items addressed:
• During the night, a motion was made, seconded and approved for the re-employment of the district’s certified staff for the 2018-19 school year.
• It was also announced that Goza Middle School Principal Angela Garner is intending to retire at the end of this school year.
