Clark County experienced a slight increase its unemployment rate for the month of October.
According to statistics provided by the Arkansas Department of Workforce, the unemployment rate for Clark County for the month of October was 3.5 percent. The unemployment rate for September was 3.4 percent, while an unemployment rate of 3.8 percent was recorded for August.
Clark County had a civilian labor force of 9,844 for October. The labor force was 9,903 for September and 9,672 for August.
Of the October labor force, 9,499 people were employed, while 345 people were unemployed. A civilian labor force of 9,669 and an unemployment rate of 3.8 percent was reported for October 2016.

• Dallas County reported a decrease from 4.2 percent in September to 4.0 percent in October. An unemployment rate of 4.4 percent was reported in August.
• Garland County's unemployment rate decreased from 3.8 percent in August and September to 3.5 percent in October.

• Saline County’s unemployment rate decreased from 2.8 percent in August and September to 2.6 percent in October.
Preliminary statistics (not seasonally adjusted) for the state of Arkansas showed there were 44,246 people unemployed out of a civilian labor force of 1,374,366 for an unemployment rate of 3.2 percent. The percentage is down slightly from 3.5 percent in August and 3.4 percent in September.
Seasonally adjusted statistics for the state show there were 49,591 people unemployed out of a labor force of 1,378,254 for an unemployment rate of 3.6 percent. The percentage is down from 3.5 percent in August and September.
The national unemployment rate for October was 3.9 percent. The percentage is down from 4.5 percent in August and 4.1 percent in September.
