The Sebastian County Regional Solid Waste Management District board of directors approved the district's budget for 2018 on Wednesday.
The board met at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Ralph's Pink Flamingo BBQ in Fort Smith to approve the budget. Darla Morgan, accountant for the solid waste district, said revenue for 2018 has been projected at $754,000. Expenses for 2018 is projected to be an amount exceeding $712,000. Last year, revenues were projected at $701,000 while expenses were projected at over $560,000.
"What went up this year is going be the building if we ... replace the roof," Morgan said. "... We have a warehouse out at Fort Chaffee, and that roof needs to be replaced, and that's generally not an expense we incur."
The board also approved 2018 meeting dates for the district. Morgan said the meetings will take place on the second Tuesday in March, June, September and December in the new year.
