The Clark County Health Inspector visited several eateries and schools during the month of November.
• Ouachita Baptist University dining, located at 410 Ouachita St.
The facility contained a dirty can opener and improper storage of shell eggs above foods ready to be eaten. Both violations were corrected.
• Clark County Jail Kitchen, located at 1201 Highway 67 South
The only violation, a dirty can opener, was corrected.
• Cuddle Bugs, located at 820 Wade St.
The storage of shell eggs above other foods was corrected.
• Buck’s Country Store, located at 11748 Highway 8 West in Alpine
The store corrected an infraction of open lunch meats not having a discard date.
• Chuck Wagon, located at 115 Valley St.
A spray bottle with no label was discovered. This infraction was rectified.
• Ouachita Hills Academy, located at 16 Madison Way in Amity
The health inspector advised the use of utensils at a self-serving bread station to prevent hand contact with foods. The academy was also instructed to use an ice bath at the salad bar to help maintain the 41 degree or lower temperature. In addition, a can opener with metal shavings had begun to accumulate near a food contact area. All violations were corrected.
• Community Counseling Services, located at 201 N. 26th St.
The only infraction, a dirty can opener, was rectified.
• Kadi’s Korner, located at 2525 Malvern Road
It was advised to not store items in front of the hand washing sink. Also, raw bacon was found to be kept above ready-to-eat foods. Both violations were corrected.
• Allen’s, located at 110 N. Elm St. in Gurdon
The health inspector advised that no barehand contact with exposed, ready-to-eat foods or ice. It was also instructed that barbecue sauce in the walk-in cooler must be covered to prevent contamination. This violation was corrected.
• Goza Middle School, located at 1305 Caddo St.
A knife holder required cleaning and shell eggs were kept in an improper place. Both were corrected.
• Arkadelphia Senior Activity, located at 1311 N. 10th St.
It was reported that eggs were stored above other foods and the walk-in freezer had condensation dripping onto stored foods.
• Community Family Enrichment, located at 301 N. 23rd St.
The only infraction, a dirty can opener, was cleaned.
• Fish Net, located at 5000 Valley St.
The inspector observed that no sign was at the front of the hand washing sink in the waitress station. This was corrected, as was a microwave in need of cleaning.
