Members of the Tate Temple Church of God in Christ will celebrate the 20th pastoral anniversary of their pastor and his wife, Supt. LeRoy and Missionary Deloris Williams, this Sunday afternoon.
The celebration will be held at 3 p.m. at the Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, located at 1600 Caddo Street in Arkadelphia. Guest speaker will be Elder Dennis J. Rodgers Sr. of Greater New Bibleway Church Of God In Christ of North Little Rock.
Supt. Williams is the beloved son of the late Deacon Arthur Williams and Missionary Bobbie Williams. He is a native of Arkadelphia and is the loving husband of the lovely First Lady, Missionary Deloris Williams. He is the loving father of two sons, one lovely daughter, seven grandchildren and two lovely daughters-in-law.
He is a 1965 graduate of Peak High School and a former student of Henderson State University College in Arkadelphia. He is a former student of the Charles Harrison Mason Bible College in Memphis, Tennessee.
After 40 years of loyal and gainful employment, Superintendent Williams was blessed
to retire from the Alcoa Aluminum Company in Gum Springs.
Superintendent Williams has been anointed and appointed by God, for such a time as this. He was
called to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1974 at the age of 26. He began his first
pasturage in 1978 and much work has been successfully completed and many souls have been saved, delivered and set free under his charge. Superintendent Williams is a former Pastor of the Vaden Church of God in Christ and the Manchester Church of God in Christ.
Presently, Superintendent Williams serves as the proud pastor of the Tate Temple Church of God in Christ, where he has faithfully served for the past 20 years. Superintendent Williams also serves as the General Superintendent of the Arkadelphia District Church of God in Christ. He presently serves as the Second Administrative Assistant to Bishop Frank J. Anderson Jr., Arkansas Second Jurisdiction Church of God in Christ.
He is a member of the African American Ministerial Alliance Association in Arkadelphia. He continues to serve his God and his country by reaching out to serve humanity.
Above all else Superintendent is a born again servant of the Lord. Superintendent Williams is
“GOD’S MAN.”
He Loves God and he Loves the People of God. His passion for souls is exemplified in his walk with God and Mankind. To this end, God has given Superintendent Williams an awesome vision to build the Lord a new and glorious edifice in the city of Arkadelphia. It is his heart’s desire to fulfill this vision with great expectations from the Lord and the people of God. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but it will surely come (Habakkuk. 2:3).
His favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path.”
His favorite song is “He’s Done So Much for Me I Cannot Tell It All.”
