The October meeting of the Arkadelphia Public Schools Board of Education revealed an update by Superintendent Donnie Whitten regarding the district’s plans for two new school buildings.
It was stated during the previous month’s meeting that the state had approved the plans for Goza Middle School’s new building. Furthermore, the bid opening date has been extended to Oct. 26.
Once the bidding process is finished, the board will have to approve the package. The November meeting is expected to feature a presentation of some kind, once bids are done.
The district is tackling one building at a time. Plans are to focus on the elementary level next.
