Coordinators for Clark County's Relay for Life are not wasting any time in preparing for next year’s stand against cancer.
Plans for 2018 will commence with a kickoff at Ouachita Baptist University on Thursday, Oct. 19 at 6 p.m.
During the evening, the group will not only take a vote to determine the theme for nest year, but will present awards for 2017’s fundraising efforts.
Following the votes and awards, there will be a balloon release in tribute to loved ones who have battled cancer.
The festivities will be held at Cliff Harris Stadium.
This year's Relay for Life activities held on Henderson State University’s Quad brought in an amount of $54,084.75. The 2017 amount is an increase from 2014-2016 when earnings were $46,972, $46,400, and $51,049, respectively.
