The Good Author
Some of the best-selling novels contain chapters where it looks like all hope is gone. The main character is found experiencing tough times when it appears he doesn’t stand a chance. But if we keep reading, we find that he survives in the end.
There is a lesson to be learned from reading these stories: We can’t judge the author by a single chapter. We cannot assume that the writer is a terrible person because the main character goes through terrible times. On the contrary, we believe that a good author will provide a way out.
When we look in the Bible we see an amazing narrative. It starts when Joseph was at the age of 17. His life was close to being perfect, but then comes an unexpected twist: He went from having an almost perfect life to everything falling apart. He was thrown in a pit, he was lied on, and was later faced with a prison sentence.
This is unimaginable! But this wasn’t the end. As you well know, Joseph fulfilled the purpose that God had written in his life’s story.
So it is with you. When it seems like the story of your life is filled with insurmountable twist and turns, just believe God’s promise will work for your good. Always remember He’s the Good Author and it’s not over until He finishes your story.
“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (Philippians 1:6).
