Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered an item the deputies suspected to be an explosive device, while investigating an unrelated matter in a rural part of Clark County on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.

Clark County Sheriff’s Deputies discovered an item the deputies suspected to be an explosive device, while investigating an unrelated matter in a rural part of Clark County on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. The Deputies withdrew from the immediate area and secured the perimeter.
Clark County Sheriff Jason Watson notified the Arkansas State Police and requested their assistance with the identification and removal of the device.
As a precaution, two homes located near the device were evacuated and the road was blocked. The device was removed by the Arkansas State Police Bomb Unit and was ultimately determined to be a decoy device. Deputies and Officers remained on the scene for several hours.
The investigation is continuing.
