The Arkadelphia Board of Education met in regular session on Tuesday, Aug. 15.
Dr. Donnie Whitten, superintendent of the Arkadelphia Public School District, stated that the board voted to limit the votes for the upcoming school board election to strictly absentee and early voting. This measure was taken because the two board postions up for election are unopposed.
The board voted unanimously to approve the district’s bread and milk bids, respectively from Bimbo Bakery and Hiland Dairy and Sysco. Extra duty pay was also unanimously passed.
Regarding a request to transfer funds, Vice President Dr. Kenneth Harris made a motion to move $51,458.86 to building funds.
Finally, the board accepted a a resignation and leave of absence in personnel matters.
