Dr. Shayla Johnson has been interested in caring for animals since she was a child and at the age of five, she decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian.

Dr. Shayla Johnson has been interested in caring for animals since she was a child and at the age of five, she decided that she wanted to become a veterinarian. Originally from Arkadelphia, Arkansas, Dr. Johnson attended Henderson State University where she obtained her bachelors degree in biology. She went on to attend Tuskegee University where she obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she spent one year in New York city completing a small animal rotation internship.
Dr. Johnson’s medical interests include rehabilitation and internal medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys reading, hiking, and being outdoors with her pets. She also spent a summer in Nicaragua with The World Vets, spaying and neutering cats and dogs, as well as vaccinating horses.
Dr. Johnson is a pet parent to five four-legged children. She has two cats, Shane and Spartacus and three dogs Roman a Corgi, Phoenix a Rhodesian Ridgeback, and Fossil a Labrador.
