An altercation at a street intersection has resulted in an aggravated assault charge for an Arkadelphia woman.
The case’s victim was driving on Clay Street when she came to the Tenth Street intersection. Stopping before the sign, the woman made to access her cell phone when she was approached by defendant Angela Smith, 32.
Smith, who lived nearby, is alleged to have went to the vehicle, partially entered it, and tried to hit the driver with her right hand while in her left hand was a knife.
The defendant, apparently a total stranger to the victim, could be sentenced to up to 16 years in prison, due to habitual felony status.
