For more than 30 years, Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia has been devoted to caring for and serving the residents of southwest Arkansas. Baptist Health has worked to make improvements in the community while also being a vital part of the community.
In return, the Arkadelphia community and surrounding area has been greatly committed to helping Baptist Health care for patients.
Just in the last year, the auxiliary at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia, which is comprised of volunteers from the community, has provided an incredible amount of support. Members of the auxiliary spent more than 1,400 hours last year volunteering their time and energy to projects and services that keep the community amazing.
In that time, the auxiliary worked with the American Red Cross to bring blood drives to local churches and collected almost $14,000 in donations that directly benefit hospital services for patients.
The auxiliary members worked to install a prayer garden at the Gathright Medical Plaza to bring comfort and serenity to those visiting and receiving care, and they have helped in many other ways, such as helping patients who are undergoing eye surgeries and hosting the state conference for all Arkansas auxiliaries.
One Auxiliary member, Liz Robertson, even hand crochets all of the newborn baby hats placed in new parent gift bags.
If you or someone you know is interested in volunteering at the hospital and helping the hospital be the best in caring for patients in the community, volunteer positions are available by calling the gift shop at (870) 245-1140.
