Richard McClure of Arkadelphia has been charged for a South Eighth Street altercation.
McClure is alleged to have forced the victim down to the ground and then kicked her in the mouth. The encounter also resulted in a reported abrasion to the victim’s right hand. According to the case’s affidavit, the victim’s upper lip was torn and had flesh hanging down towards the lower lip.
When Arkadelphia Police Department officers arrived at the scene, the defendant fled, but was found hiding under a van. Upon discovery, McClure resisted the authorities’ attempts to arrest him.
Charges filed are third-degree battery and resisting arrest. It was noted that McClure has previously been convicted of battery within the last five years.
