People, who call themselves friends, tell you what you want to hear instead of telling you the truth. One of my pet peeves is when someone tells me they will do something, but truth be known, they have no intention of doing it. I’d much rather they just be honest with me than tell me they will do something and not do it. OK I’m jumping off that soap box onto lighter fare.

Do you ever wonder, I mean really wonder, what on earth is our world coming to?

I have to say, I do more and more every day. It seems that few people have any respect for life anymore. Pregnant women think nothing of aborting their babies, young people think nothing of shooting someone and our prisons are filled with people who have either taken a life or assaulted someone so badly they have to spend years in prison. What happened to the golden rule? Does anyone even know what it is anymore?

Finally got to see my grandson this weekend and what a pleasure it was. I can’t believe how fast he is growing and learning. He is really getting to the super fun stage — at 9 months. He had discovered what his jumper is really for and he jumped, laughed, jumped, laughed — it was so funny. I was videoing it on my phone while he jumped around trying to get Suki’s attention (Suki their Jack Russell dog or rat terrier mix) while all Suki wanted to do was play with my hand.

After about 30-45 minutes though, Holden started to get a little fussy and reached out to me to get him out. So, of course I did. Knowing he was a little sleepy, I said let’s go rockabye. So off to the rocking chair we went. It took about five to 10 minutes and out he went. And grandma felt like she was drugged. I was so relaxed I felt like crawling in the crib next to him. Nothing better than rocking that little guy to sleep, except maybe playing with him when he’s awake.

As most of you know, I love to garden and work in flower beds and I did that most of Sunday after I got in from church, as well as Friday — I think it was Friday. I have squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers planted and up. Not to mention the wide variety of flowers I have transferred from my old home in Gillett the new home in England. The coolest thing is I have had some iris’ bloom this year after not blooming for at least 10 or more years. Pretty excited about this. Downside is I can’t breathe today

Oh well, it happens. Hope you have a great week!

Until next time...
