Louis “Sugar Boy” Rogers, 70, Magnolia, formerly Gurdon, passed Sunday. He was born was August 12, 1946 in Waldo, son of Louis and Siller Beasley Rogers.
He attended Waldo High School and was a former employee of Taylor Brothers, Anthony Higgs, Fafner, Petit Jean Poultry and the Senior Adult Center in Gurdon. He attended Greater Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and Mt. Canaan Baptist Church.
He was preceded in his passing by his parents and siblings, Mae Rogers, Rosie Rogers, Clara Cummings and Lossie Rogers, Jr.
He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter; Pamela Young; two grandchildren, Preston Paden and LaShalla Paden, all of Sparkman; and one brother, Terry Rogers, Sr. of Arkadelphia.
A service of celebration will be held Saturday 11:00 a.m. at New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Gurdon, Rev. William Colbert officiating and Rev. Rufus R. Hatley, eulogist.
