According to her letter submitted to Acting City Manager Brenda Gills, Mayor James Calhoun and members of the board, Winfrey’s resignation will be effective immediately.
In her resignation letter, Winfrey asserts feelings of “stalking, invasion of personal privacy, harassment thru citizens and a City employee, and possibly intrusion going on by members of the City Board” as reasons for her resignation.
According to her letter, Winfrey also states she received knowledge of a potential meeting among some board members to “discuss the declaration of my seat and potential applicants.”
She concluded her letter by saying “I do not want to be involved with or a part of a Board that has questionable practices.”
Winfrey declined to comment to a Siftings reporter regarding her resignation.
