Clark County experienced a slight decline in its unemployment rate for the month of September.
According to statistics provided by the Arkansas Department of Workforce, Clark County had an unemployment rate of 4.3 percent for the month in question. The unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in August and 5.3 percent in July.
Clark County had a civilian labor force of 9,850 for the month of September. The labor force was 9,666 for the month of August and 9,540 for the month of July.
Of the September 2016 labor force, 9,428 people were employed while 422 people were unemployed.
A labor force of 9,552 and an unemployment rate of 4.7 percent was reported for September 2015.

• Dallas County reported a decrease from 5.1 percent in August to 4.7 percent in September. The unemployment rate was 5.7 percent in July.
• Garland County's unemployment rate increased slightly from 4.0 percent in August to 4.3 percent in September. The unemployment rate was 4.6 percent in July.
• Hempstead County had a slight increase from 3.7 percent in August to 3.8 percent in September. The unemployment rate was 4.3 percent in July.
• Hot Spring County had an unemployment rate of 3.8 percent in September. The number is up from 3.6 percent in August, but down from 4.2 percent in July.
• Montgomery County's unemployment rate increased from 4.6 percent in August to 4.9 percent in September. The number is down from 5.3 percent in July.
• Nevada County reported an unemployment rate rose slightly from 3.6 percent in August to 3.7 percent in September. An employment rate of4.3 percent was reported for July.
• Ouachita County reported decreased from 5.5 percent in August to 5.1 percent in September. The unemployment was 5.8 percent at July.
• Pike County's unemployment rate increased from 3.9 percent in August to 4.2 percent in September. The July percentage was 4.9.
• Saline County reported an unemployment rate of 3.3 percent. The unemployment rate for August was 3.0 percent and 3.4 percent for July.
Preliminary statistics (not seasonally adjusted) for the state of Arkansas showed
there were 53,485 people unemployed out of a labor force of 1,355,110 for an unemployment rate of 3.9 percent. The unemployment rate is identical to the percentage for August, but down from 4.3 percent in July.
Seasonally adjusted statistics for the state show there were 54,927 people unemployed out of a labor force of 1,356,711 for an unemployment rate of 4.0 percent. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is up slightly from 3.9 percent in August and July.
The national unemployment rate increased decreased from 5.0 percent in August to 4.8 percent.
