The Clark County Health Department has presented a $25,000 check to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia for support of the statewide trauma system. The 86th General Assembly passed a provision to create the statewide system “to help save the lives of Arkansans injured in traumatic accidents,” said John Miller, local health unit administrator. BHMCA was one of 23 to receive the first installment of their ongoing funding for participation in the new system.
“We salute Baptist Hospital for becoming part of the statewide trauma center,” Miller said. “By being part of the trauma system, Baptist will help save the lives of at least 200 people a year statewide. I am honored to present … this check for $25,000 — the first of, hopefully, many such checks to come.”
Miller thanked local and state officials for “doing their part in support of the trauma center.”
