The comedy and drama of the play Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling, is coming to The Charles and Anita Cabe Auditorium. Under the direction of Todd Lucas, the live performances will be Jan. 20 and 21 beginning at 7 p.m. each evening.
Joe and Joyce Dixon will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary 2-4 p.m. Jan. 8 at the Second Baptist Church reception room.
The Arkadelphia Arts Center, 625 Main St., has the “Trees and Quilts” exhibit on display.
On Dec. 22, Drs. Herman and Juanita Sandford will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.
The Clark County Farm Bureau Women's Committee recently hosted a meal for the Arkadelphia Band as they were preparing to leave for a band competition.
The Ouachita Baptist University Jazz Band will perform on Monday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center under the direction of Dr. Craig Hamilton, OBU’s Lena Goodwin Trimble Professor of Music and director of bands. The concert is free and open to the public.
The second annual Curtis country mile yard sale will be held Oct. 1 and vendors will be open beginning at 6 a.m.
Gungor, a self-proclaimed “liturgical post-rock band,” will be in concert at Ouachita Baptist University on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center. The concert, sponsored by Ouachita’s Campus Activities Board, is part of the university’s 125th anniversary celebration.
The Mother’s Board of Greater New Beginning COGIC is sponsoring a Hat Rally, Sunday, Aug. 21, at 3 p.m. at Greater New Beginning, 251 West Second St. N., Prescott.
