Daughters of the American Revolution

The Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will hold a family history workshop for beginners at the Clark County Museum from 5 p.m.-7 p.m., at 750 S. 5th St. Call 246-5351 or 403-2452 for more information.

Bingo at Group Living

Group Living sponsors bingo, 6:30 p.m., at the McLean Center, 8th and Main streets.

Friday, Oct. 24

Annual county sanitation pickup

Clark County will sponsor a special county pickup on Monday, Oct. 27. To request a pickup, call the Clark County Sanitation Department at 246-7602. Office hours are 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Halloween Carnival

Golden Living will sponsor its third Halloween Carnival at Golden Living, 2701 Twin Rivers Drive, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. There will be games, booths, face painting, fishing pond, jumping gym, basketball, and more. Hot dogs, chili, nachos, popcorn and drinks will also be available.

Henderson State University movie

Henderson State University presents this week’s movie, “Step Brothers,” showing in the Garrison Center Lecture Hall, 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 25

Clark County NAACP Banquet

The Clark County Branch of the NAACP will have its 17th Annual Freedom Fund Banquet at 6 p.m. at the Henderson State University Day Gymnasium. A donation of $30 per person, or $300 per table of 10 for groups, organizations, and businesses. The keynote speaker is Dr. Christopher A. Bullock.

Amity Chamber of Commerce

Amity Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a gospel show at Amity City Hall at 4 p.m.

Gurdon Forest Festival dessert shop

The First United Methodist Church Gurdon will have “The Dessert Shop” from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at 2nd E. Walnut St. during the Forest Festival. Donations will be accepted. Call 879-353-4713 for more information.

Sunday, Oct. 26

Annual Pet Costume Contest

Atwoods will have its its 13th Annual Pet Costume Contest at the Atwoods Store located at 2727 Caddo St. at 2 p.m. Any pet is eligible, but must be on a leash or contained. Pets will be judged on their costumes in three weight categories: Under 20 pounds, 20-100 pounds, and more than 100 pounds.

Monday Oct. 27

Perritt Primary performs “A Froggy Day...”

Louisa E. Perritt Primary School will present “A Froggy Day In Lindentown!” at 2:15 p.m. and 7 p.m. First graders will perform under the direction of Kelly Bell. The public is invited to both performances. The 7 p.m. performance will include a PTC (Parents/Teachers/Children) meeting.
