The comedy and drama of the play Steel Magnolias, by Robert Harling, is coming to The Charles and Anita Cabe Auditorium. Under the direction of Todd Lucas, the live performances will be Jan. 20 and 21 beginning at 7 p.m. each evening.
Ouachita Baptist University’s Department of Theatre Arts will host its annual student-directed One Act Plays on Thursday, Dec. 8, and Friday, Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m. in Verser Theatre. All performances are free and open to the public.
County trash routes will be changed for the holiday weekend while county, city and the Siftings offices will be closed.
The Ouachita Baptist University Jazz Band will perform on Monday, Nov. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in Jones Performing Arts Center under the direction of Dr. Craig Hamilton, OBU’s Lena Goodwin Trimble Professor of Music and director of bands. The concert is free and open to the public.

The annual Clinton Day Dinner is planned for Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m. The event will be held at Garrison Center on the Henderson State University campus. Guest speaker for the event is Attorney General Dustin McDaniel.

Central Baptist Church will host an event on Sept. 17, 2-10 p.m. for grades 7-12 for an all day outdoor, fun event with games, worship, speaking essions and a concert by The Running Back.

DeGray Baptist Church will host an Inside Out and Upside Down Vacation Bible School Monday through Thursday, July 11-14, from 6-8:15 p.m. each evening. Everyone is invited.
The housing committee of the Clark County Stretegic Plan will meet Thursday at noon for a Dutch treat lunch at the Honeycomb. The guest speaker will be Eddie Arnold who is slated to talk about the future of the Plaza at Twin Rivers, an assisted living facility.

The Clark County Library will have a used book sale in the building behind the library at 612 Clinton St. The sale, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
