SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. – Bobby Dee Reaves, 73, died at his home in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
Born April 14, 1936, in Clear Springs to Grady and Essie Reaves. He grew up in Arkansas and eventually settled in Sierra Vista where he lived for the past 50 years. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958 with his final duty assignment being at Fort Huachuca. In 1957 he met and married the love of his life, Beverly, with whom he spent 52 wonderful years, continued by his side throughout his courageous battle with cancer.
On Oct. 15, 1965, he joined the Sierra Vista Police Department, where he proudly served for more than 24 years. Bobby served as a Sergeant (PD#3) for the majority of his career, retiring in January 1990. In 1978 he received his degree in Criminal Justice from Cochise College.
Survivors include, his loving wife Beverly; three sons, Robert (Rose) of Sierra Vista, Randy (Sue) of Phoenix and Ken (Leeann) of Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Christina and Ryan Reaves of Sierra Vista, Travis, Cassie and Marissa Reaves of Phoenix, and Randy Scott and Nickolas Reaves of Tennessee; one great-grandson, Tyler Walters of Sierra Vista. He also leaves three sisters, Virginia (Phil) Hoffmeyer of Hereford, Jean (Penn) Price of Arkansas, and Louise Warren of Ohio; two brothers-in-law, David Donaldson of Sierra Vista and Peter Donaldson of Tucson and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held at Hatfield’s Funeral Home on Thursday, March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, March 19, at 11 a.m. at Hatfield’s Funeral Home with interment to follow at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, and will be laid to rest with military and law enforcement honors. Reception to follow for friends and family.
